Greetings APS Families,
We are excited to share various opportunities for you to help shape the future of Alamogordo schools. Alamogordo Public Schools and your School Board are committed to aligning school programs with our world, thereby developing learners who will become engaged and productive citizens. To help us in this work, we have partnered with a value-aligned, nonprofit organization, Learner-Centered Collaborative (LCC), to support the design of a Framework for the Future and Strategic Plan.
This partnership will help us define the unique knowledge, skills, and dispositions important to our community. In addition, we will craft our Learning Model to support our schools and educators in creating experiences that ensure our students are college-, career-, and life-prepared graduates. Finally, once we know what we aspire to, we can create a 3-5 year strategic plan to ensure we can accomplish what we have defined as essential.
The first step in this process is to start with listening. When we listen, we build empathy, and when we better understand our community’s experience, we can better design an environment that ensures success for all. We will gather input through various modes, including a survey linked below.
